Interview with: Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns/Brides of Destruction) (Guitars)

Interview with: Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns/Brides of Destruction) (Guitars) Tracii: Thank you!!!!! The idea was to make this record easily available since it had a very limited release the first...

Myglobalmind: Hey Tracii!! Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for fans of the band..

Myglobalmind: Getting ready to hit the road on the “The Triple Threat Tour” in July, how are preparations for that coming along?

Tracii: Well, I am presently doing the tour budget ie. Figuring out mileage, gasoline totals, Bus payments etc.

Myglobalmind: Congratulations on the re-release of “Shrinking Violet” the sound and production are an improvement over the original. What we’re you guys trying to accomplish with this Deluxe edition?

Tracii: Thank you!!!!! The idea was to make this record easily available since it had a very limited release the first time around. It also gave us a chance to spiff it up a bit in the process

Myglobalmind: How did the signing to Steve Vai’s Favored Nations/Jibboom label come about? I heard that initial contact was done over Facebook?

Tracii: Yes Indeed!!!! Dean Schachtel (the then) GM of Favored Nations, contacted me through facebook last year about the band and label working together and we have become very good friends 🙂

Myglobalmind: Some of the classic Guns cuts are displayed live on the record like “Rip and Tear” and “Never Enough”, is there going to be perhaps some more rare stuff from the band for release in the near future?

Tracii: We have 7 more live Tracks ready for release but, we are trying to figure out the best way to release them, probably via digital download only

Myglobalmind: There was some mixed opinions in the Guns fan base when the original “Shrinking Violet” record came about because some felt Jizzy Pearl’s voice didn’t fit the band well enough. What’s your take on that?

Tracii: I disagree

Myglobalmind: What is the single biggest thing you look forward to in being back on the road touring?

Tracii: I really love to travel and play my guitar. The travel is the time in my life where I can relax and really think. I have a 19 month old son so, I will be thinking of him constantly.

Myglobalmind: Of all the crazy things that have happen to you living the “rock star” life, what has been the most memorable?

Tracii: My most memorable experience was playing the Download festival with Brides Of Destruction… It sounded fucking huge and the crowd was very excited that we were there.

Myglobalmind: What’s your opinion on the corporate music industry in this country? Is there any hope for 80’s scene or some new wave of metal or hard rock revival to reclaim its place?

Tracci: The industry is headed straight for bankruptcy and as a result you will find musicians taking matters into their own hands which I think is healthy.

Myglobalmind: Any new bands that you’re digging at the moment?

Tracii: The Jimi Hendrix Experience hahahahahaha

Myglobalmind: Care to shine some light on possible studio releases for L.A. Guns? Anything in the works?

Tracii: We are working on new music for a new release next year on Favored Nations.

Myglobalmind: Any last words for long time fans of L.A. Guns?

Tracii: What would I do without you guys? We hope to have some new tunes for ya’ll sooner than later
