THE WINERY DOGS – the superb all star cast featuring vocalist/guitarist Richie Kotzen, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Mike Portnoy – resumed touring this year in support of their self-titled debut album. We we’re fortunate enough to get some extra shots from our photographer friend Rodrigo Fredes of the Dogs in action. The trio has been living on the road since their release of their debut record, with a long string of dates already in place for this summer, The Winery Dogs will be sure to hit a town near you soon. As for this NYC gig, it was one of a two night stay on March 25th and 26th and featuring special opening act: Tony Harnell (TNT) with Virus (Device, ex-Dope). Great musicianship, keen live flavor and all you could expect from three iconic legends of their own instruments. Check out the live shots and paint a picture.

The Winery Dogs is an American rock supergroup formed in Brooklyn, NY in 2012 by Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Adrenaline Mob, Avenged Sevenfold), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) and Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr. Big).
When asked about the band’s main influences, Mike Portnoy commented that they are working towards a classic rock sound, influenced by Led Zeppelin, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad, as well as newer artists such as Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Black Crowes and Lenny Kravitz.
The band’s self-titled debut album was released in Japan on May 5 through Victor subsidiary WHD Entertainment, with a worldwide release following on July 23 through Loud & Proud Records.
