So this is it, the big one, the final day. The opportunity for Firefest to go out in style is massive as the line up includes yet more ‘firsts’ for the public. It’s the first time Autograph and Brother Firetribe are playing in the UK. It’s also the first time the original line up of Danger Danger have played over here in years so expectations are also high.
Ahh, my first prog metal review for 2010…. Prog metal is always an interesting genre to write about as the term itself has gotten wider and wider, and fans have become even more loyal to the genre than in the past.
The main problem though is where to draw the line of calling something progressive music. Some die hard fans think that all prog music must be odd time signatures and general weirdness, and on the hand are the people that are more forgiving in genre description and willing toaccept more artists as prog metal…
Gloryful showed a lot of promise on their debut but in the end it came up just a bit short, while their sophomore effort Ocean Blade show signs of a great future for the band. Highly recommended for fans of power metal, or just classic traditional metal in general.
