I first came across Jorn in the masterpiece album from Ark titled Burn The Sun which to this day I consider one of the best prog hard rock albums of all time. Since then of course Lande has been involved in many other projects mentioned above and then there is his solo stuff, while still solid and rocking to his true nature, some of his solo stuff has just never blown me away like his work with Masterplan and Ark…
These guys involved in this project are all pros and their experience should shock no one, hence the quality of the songs on record. JK Impera does a bang up on drums as well as putting this group together and apart from his oddball make up the music is pretty damn solid too
So, the bottom line is a solid album with a fantastic singer, tight musicianship and solid song material that combines traditional Last Autumn’s Dream AOR-stuff with a slightly more rockin’ note in sound. It is not a true evolution, but it is a step in the right direction to ensure that you don’t listen to the same arrangements again and again. If the songwriting itself would offer more hit potential and not just more of the same, this album could have been a very important turning point in LAD history. Maybe next time. For now you get a solid one which is made especially for Last Autumn’s Dream and Mikael Erlandsson fans, as well as people who can’t get enough of Scandi Rock.
