Of course the one track that I was excited about was the one of the last recordings that Dio ever did, just a few months before his passing he delivered the track “Metal Will Never Die” an uplifting metal anthem with reminiscences of some Heaven and Hell material we all come to appreciate.
One thing that made this show special was that it was actually Kip Winger’s birthday. Once mentioned, lead guitarist Reb Beach encouraged and got the crowd to sing a birthday song which instantly put a smile on Kip Winger’s face
And then what has to be one of the bands top of my list to see over the weekend.
That band of course is Tesla, a band I never managed to see in those heady days of the late 80?s/early 90?s. Was I disappointed? Was I hell, I loved every minute of their set which peaked with an absolutely rocking Modern Day Cowboy.
