Is hard to believe that Jorn is now on his 8th album release including the 2 cover records and the Dio tribute record. The man has alot to offer to the world and that’s not even counting his duo effort with Symphony X front man Russell Allen in the Allen/Lande projects albums which are all steady killer dose of metal.
21 Octayne is an interesting proposition on paper. Featuring what could be best described as an all-star ‘supporting cast’ line-up who’s collective CV includes stints with the Joe Perry Project, Paul Gilbert, Axxis and Rhapsody, they’re not so much a super-group as a ‘worked-with-the-super-in-a-group’. Into The Open then, is their debut album, and a fine one it is too. In a nutshell, it is hard-driving, straight ahead hard rock with a metal edge. It’s as if Steve Vai has teamed up with the Winery Dogs at an audition for Audioslave.
With a UK tour in full swing, support coming from Ireland’s own ‘The Amorettes’, Danko Jones took time out before the Dublin show to speak to MGM reporter Brian Boyle to discuss all things DJ and why it’s been a while since we’ve seen them on this side of the pond;
