HRH PROG VII ADDS MORE ACTS TO ITS LINE-UP, INCLUDING DEEP PURPLE’S KEYBOARD LEGEND DON AIREY

HRH have confirmed more prog rock acts to rock the HRH Prog VII festival between Thursday 15th-18th November 2018.

Adding to VII’s already impressive headliners, Don Airey will be playing the Main Arena on Saturday night.

Currently best known as a member of Deep Purple, prog fans will be wowed by Don’s impeccable rock credentials, jaw-dropping CV and huge body of work. One of the most recorded keyboard maestros of all time, Don’s virtuoso playing can be heard on over three hundred albums! He’s toured with some of the biggest names in the business, been part of truly iconic bands, and worked with others in session, and taken part in landmark rock events.

Trace Don’s career and you’ll find him working Cozy Powell, with Gary Moore, with Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne (on Bark at the Moon & other tracks and albums, for example) and serving as a member of Rainbow. In 1987, Don joined Jethro Tull in 1987 for their Crest of a Knave tour and also played keyboards of Whitesnake’s multi-platinum self-titled album.  Don has played with Judas Priest, Saxon, ELO, Wishbone Ash, Steve Vai, Michael Schenker, Thin Lizzy, Brian May, and Deep Purple.

In short, Don Airey boasts a staggering record of Prog Rock achievement and, as one of the artistes chosen by the HRH community, will be bringing some world-class, keyboard maestro magic to Camp HRH for HRH Prog VII.

And there’s more! HRH have also added another 5 bands to the line-up, bringing the total to 31. The C:Live Collective, M.I.N.D. and Mother Black Cap have all been added to Friday’s Stage Two line-up; Kindred Spirit will perform on Stage 2 on Saturday.

The  acts announced in the third wave join the plethora of prog rock excellence already announced: Friday headliners Pendragon and Martin Turner Ex Wishbone Ash; Saturday’s headliner Hawkwind, playing after Don Airey, and The Strawbs, and many, many more. “Talk about a lucky seven,” says HRH’s CEO Jonni Davis, “Look at line-up we’ve drawn together for this celebration of prog. When you think of how committed, creative and skilful prog musicians are, and just what these HRH-chosen acts have contributed to rock, that’s a mind-blowing array of talent we’ve brought together! It’ll be an event to remember!”

HRH Prog VII will run between Thursday 15th-18th November 2018 at HRH’s favourite home base: Camp HRH, at the Hafan y Môr holiday park, near the seaside village of Pwllheli, in North Wales.
