It goes to show that though first impressions are important, sometimes giving someone or something a second chance is a good idea. Though it’s still not the best album of the year, it’s still an enjoyable listen, and one I could see me drifting back to later on. If you enjoy good, classic hard rock with an AOR flavor, then you can’t go wrong with King’s Call and their album Lion’s Den.
I hear some doom metal here and there throughout this album, but as a whole it’s more like a slower, brooding version of thrash metal with slight progressive tendencies. The guitars have that really thick lower-end sound and when they mix it up with the deep bass grooves there is plenty of meat in the sound…
I definitely agree that it is more eclectic in Europe, you can go to a festival in Europe and see Pink, Machine Head, Alanis Morrisette and Therapy? All on the same bill on the same day on the same stage.
