I was truly surprised to discover that SNEW were not an Australian band, because their sound is a direct combination of some of the biggest Aussie acts in ACDC, ROSE TATTOO, THE ANGELS, JET and AIRBOURNE. Sure there is also a striking similarity to ACCEPT, RHINO BUCKET and JACKYL, but let’s face it, those three bands were all directly influenced by the Aussie rock sound anyway.
Angels or Kings are a melodic rock band that are the epitome of perseverance. Formed during the 1980’s by ex band members of of Sam Thunder, Circus and Strutz, to name a few, they were able see their dream becoming a reality. Almost 30 years later they released their album: “Kings of Nowhere”, which received wide acclaim. They took some time out to have a chat with us.
As I approached the Prog stage about 15 minutes before Ian Anderson was scheduled to perform, an eager audience had already started to assemble creating the biggest crowd the stage had seen so far that day. Following hours of rain, it had dried up at last and we dared to hope it would stay that way.
