The dark and cloudy stage lighting is contrasted by the midnight daylight streaming through a window close to the stage; something our body clocks are still getting used to. The sound in the venue is loud and clear, and although we were not previously familiar with their music, it is difficult not to enjoy their striking showmanship and dramatic delivery. An imposing and impressive performance, especially considering it was their second of the day, and The Monolith Deathcult have made a lasting first impression on this reviewer.
In the end, it feels like Summer has arrived finally and then I am not talking about the Weather in Europe, but about the arrival of this band called DALLAS and their wonderful EP ‘Over the edge’. Check them out at asap if you like any of the mentioned bands, because they might become the next big thing in Arena Rock!
Russian pagan/folk metallers ARKONA began their North America leg of their world tour with a live performance at the Gramercy Theater this past October 29th. The warriors are supporting their new record titled “Decade of Glory” which was released earlier this year. Arkona’s lyrics are heavily influenced by Russian folklore and Slavic mythology, and their music incorporates several traditional Russian musical instruments. The name of the band Arkona refers to the last pagan Slavic city-castle.
