Performing like a well-oiled machine each member working in perfect harmony proving they have an undeniable chemistry.
Going in not being overly familiar with their work beyond a handful of songs, I walk away from Suidakra’s new album Eternal Defiance with an increased interest in them, and a better feeling of the folk metal style. Though I may never become a rabid fan of the sound, I can see me checking out more acts, as well as the other work from Suidakra. Fans of the band shouldn’t be disappointed with this release.
Is it really four years since Symphony X’s last album ‘Iconoclast’ was released? A release that I personally struggled with as I found Russell Allen’s vocals to be too gruff too often rather than hitting the highs that I know he is more than capable of. Colleagues too had commented that something was perhaps lacking in the songs so it was with some trepidation that I approached this, their 9th release, ‘Underworld’.
