Kingsley – Digital Providence

Out of Los Angeles, California I received the CD of a band called KINGSLEY. Their sound is modern and typical 00s (or should 10s!) Rock, which is catchy and very melodic. Not original perhaps, but what they are doing here is of a very high level and could just as well be from a major band on a major label.

Baton Rogue Morgue – High End Of The Season

Yes, simple fact…. I really enjoyed this album and try as I might there really isn’t that much to complain about. Maybe if anything I would have preferred a bit more gusto on the guitar effects and maybe a bit more lower-end on the production in general, but keeping in mind this is self-released project I am more than willing to look over these minor discrepancies and just appreciate the great music to be found in the disc.

the band play a style of industrial metal that also draws influence from alternative rock music which creates a sound that is very similar to NINE INCH NAILS, but also has some slight leanings towards bands like TOOL and even MARYLIN MANSON. Ten years ago or so, this album may well have had a chance of some global appeal, but the fact is that most of the world has sort of moved past this kind of music now and onto other things…
