As a promotion tour for their current album ‘Heavy Fire’ Black Star Riders has just finished a run of sixteen dates across the UK
Overall “Heavy Fire” is an album that is ‘heavy’ and ‘fires’ on all cylinders. Black Star Riders is a vital rock’n’roll engine that energizes and entertains as far as it will go
JoanOvArc brought so much energy in fact, the sound man struggled to keep up with the vocal changes and for the first few songs there was so much vibration running through the stage the girls said it was vibrating like a sex toy!
BLACK STAR RIDERS frontman RICKY WARWICK is set to release not one but TWO new solo albums next month.
Rick Warwick, an inspired choice for front-man of BSR shows just why they should be playing arenas with Def Leppard and Whitesnake.
The songs climaxes with an apocalyptic guitar solo that hasn’t served it’s purpose if your ears aren’t ringing. All in all a great hard rock album, that’s safe and traditional in parts, but way more adventurous than the debut album. When the Black Star Riders come to a town near you, be sure to saddle and ride with them.
Huge credit must go to co writer Sam Robinson. Warwick truly has a kindred spirit here, with 20 tracks between the two albums theres not a filler in sight. Each track has a story to tell and are performed with a heartfelt honesty. Probably one of the most genuine collections of music I’ve heard in a long time.
Thin Lizzy are due to release their second album in February ahead of playing a UK co-headline tour with Europe. Ricky from the band recently flew into the UK to do a quick promo tour for the new release. I chatted to Ricky as he took me through a track by track analysis of the new album and we touched also on a few other topics.
This faithful editor finally got a chance to leave the friendly confines of MGM headquarters, and hit the road for the amazing Black Star Riders, the Thin Lizzy spirited revival.
Apparently its not just on stage where “All Hell Breaks Loose” but also off it as well!!!
