**Note – This review is based solely on the 2010 re-issue of Has Midnight Approaches/Paradise….At A Price released on 1st March 2010 by Angel Air Music.**

ATTENTION RE-ISSUE LABELS……. – THIS is how you do a collectors edition. This package not only includes the band’s first album …AS MIDNIGHT APPROACHES complete with five bonus demo tracks attached to the end of it, it also included for the first time ever, the previously unreleased second album by the band called PARADISE…AT A PRICE, which also features six bonus demo tracks and a bonus live track. So that’s 34 tracks in all, wrapped up in a comprehensive & informative booklet complete with rare and previously unreleased photographs.

The style the band were going for on the first album can be seen as some of the earliest hints of what would later become progressive metal, whereas on the second album, that never got released due to their record label going bankrupt at the time, the band were clearly looking for more commercial success with a new streamlined sound which was much closer to the blues rock sound of the time. Vocalist NOEL JONES is an interesting one, his voice is an even mix of JOURNEY’S Steve Perry and Aussie singer/songwriter Paul Kelly. Somehow this mix works perfectly for the band and compliments the back up vocals nicely.

ANGEL AIR RECORDS have outdone themselves with this release and have set a new benchmark for the rest of the re-issue labels out there and have created a complete package that’s worth every penny wether you’re a fan of the band or just curious about them.
