Early last year I was sent a three track demo from INTERVENTION titled WORDS OF VIOLENCE which I personally enjoyed very much and it actually received a nine out ten rating, something that is very rare for a demo. I was pleasantly surprised the other day upon doing my daily mail opening when I pulled this new demo out of a parcel and it seems that the guys from INTERVENTION are keen to keep us all up to date with what they are doing and how they are progressing.

Basically the three tracks on the demo feature more of the same as we heard on the first one, but I certainly don’t mean that in a bad way. The three tracks available here are all excellent and show that the band are gearing up toward something pretty special in the future. Probably the main difference I noticed on this new demo was that the death metal elements that were hinted at on the previous demo are a bit more dominant here, never so much as to be able to call them a death metal band, just enough to add another layer of intensity to their already quite full sound. I guess you can now also add bands like SOILWORK on their sounds like list along with TESTAMENT, EYE OF THE ENEMY and TRIVIUM like I mentioned in my review for their earlier demo.

All I can say now is that it’s time for a proper album. This is bands third demo release in four years and with each one they have shown the professionalism and songwriting ability that makes them worthy of a record label deal. Sure these demos are doing a good job of getting the band some respect in the metal media (especially myself included), but in order for them to branch out and start gaining the respect and adoration of the wider public, a full album needs to be the next step INTERVENTION take, until then though I will keep on running this demo and the previous one through regular rotation.
