American Groove Metal masters DevilDriver finally hit the road after almost a year of absence in support of their new release titled “Winter Kill” which was released on August 27th through Napalm Records. We got an opportunity to check out both DevilDriver and Trivium smash through their live sets at Best Buy Theater in NYC this past Friday the 27th. DD opened up the with one of the their new spine breaking numbers from their new album “Ruthless” and it was mosh pit heaven from there. The rest of the set list included a nice back catalog mix including the oldie but grinding vibe of “Before the Hangman’s Noose” and finishing the night with “End of the Line” from their sophomore record “The Fury of Our Maker’s Hand”, as well the last number “Meet the Wretched” from their self title debut back in 2003. A killer set featuring a superiority test of speed, precision and most importantly massive groove.
DEVILDRIVER released their sixth studio album Winter Kills on August 27th via Napalm Records. Winter Kills is available in four configurations including a Deluxe Digibook with CD (including two bonus tracks: “Shudder” and “Back Down to the Grave”) and Live DVD (Featuring 45 minutes of live raw DEVILDRIVER power. No studio over dubs at all just the band at their best and includes fan favorites “Clouds over California” and “The Wretched”), standard CD version, digital version and for the first time in DEVILDRIVER history, and a 2LP Gatefold edition.
Florida metallers TRIVIUM will release their new album, “Vengeance Falls”, on October 15 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was produced by DISTURBED and DEVICE frontman David Draiman at his house in Austin, Texas.
