Last Tuesday November 5th, the Great Apple celebrated quite the folk fest. Who better than the Estonians known as Metsatöll to start out the party. They were definitely missed since last’s years tour with Korpikkalani, which was proven by the great amount of dancing and singing by their fellow fans.
Up next was Blackguard, a forced always to be reckoned with, they were followed by intense moshing and a crazy crowd following. The place was just starting to become a huge party and Finntroll was soon to follow.
Since the last time Finntroll was here in the “Finnish Metal Tour” fans were anxiously awaiting their return to the US soil. Only after the release of Blodsvept their return would be guaranteed. Despite the technical difficulties, the band work it though, as they interacted with the crowd while the issues were being resolved. Overall this felt like a very intimate show with the Trolls, they were full of energy and willingness to converse with their loyal fans, which returned the love by head banging madly and moshing insanely thoughout their set.

Press release:
“The trolls of Nordic folklore are believed to be dirty creatures of enormous strength and appetite. Their grotesque physique grants them a comic element, although the humor tends to be on the grim side as these nocturne beings hunger for human flesh. Unsurprisingly, this has earned them a rather bad reputation. All things considered, Finntroll are the perfect embodiment of all aforementioned sentiments – although one might want to replace the hunger for human meat with an unquenchable thirst for booze.”
