I came into the venue as Cilver was finishing their set so didn’t get a chance to get an early photo warm up. The photo pit quickly got packed by the time when Eyes Set to Kill came on stage.

I was told that the lighting for the first two bands wasn’t too great, but it improved as the night went on. When Eyes Set to Kill came on, the lighting was just mediocre but they played a good set and the fans were enjoying it. These guys have been building quite a reputation with their rock/metal performances, they have a good deal of touring under their belt already, and brought a professional outing to Irving this evening. A nice setlist got the audience warmed up for Lacuna Coil, the highly anticipated performance for the Italian metal outfit.

When Lacuna Coil came on stage, the lighting was pretty difficult to shoot. They used all of the lights in the venue and set up extras so it helped their stage quit a bit. Everyone was jamming and singing as the fever pitch for each song helped raised their performance and carry the night to an all time high. The fans were excited to see them as expected. They played a sick set with two songs from their new album, one titled “”Die & Rise” and the other one “- Nothing Stands In Our Way”, alongside some oldies, a big chunk of the set list came from the “Dark Adrenaline” record and some of their older, popular songs. Cristina was intense and looked great raising steaming up the joint with spitfire presence. She was wearing a formal black dress. The rest of the band was energetic and played well. Their set felt short even though they played 10 songs. There was one crowd surfer towards the end of their set and Cristina interacted with her before security pulled her away.

By the time Sick Puppies went on, about half the people had left, which made me think that Lacuna Coil should have headlined. The lighting was okay and they actually used less lighting than Lacuna Coil did. They weren’t as engaging as the other bands and the fans weren’t interacting as much. No to say the set was bad, but their mix of alternative/rock/metal has it’s appeal, but can be an eclectic taste, on this night however most fans probably we’re there to check out Lacuna, and overall they got a nice night. A cool tour a jammed packed audiences let with a satisfying mist of chicks that rock HARD!!!
