The latest 8 track offering from Norway’s MAYHEM titled De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive is full of hooks and technical brutality that both old and new fans of the band will enjoy.

MAYHEM are Norway’s black metal icons and this release celebrates the landmark 1994 release De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas full-length album and tours around the world.  This month the band will storm their way across North America performing this historic album in its entirety.  After the US run of shows, the band will embark on a European tour showcasing the album in what some fans have described as even more powerful than the original album, with one of the tightest line-ups MAYHEM have ever had.

In relation to these live rituals from MAYHEM, the band have self-released a live LP limited to 1000 hand-numbered copies and the first 200 fans to order got a signed copy by the whole band.  The live album is also available to purchase direct from the band on CD and DVD format.  The band have also hinted that they are in talks of a second Vinyl pressing due to the high demand, although it is not clear whether this second pressing will have any signed copies.

The album was recorded in Norrkoping, Sweden during Mayhem’s headlining set at the Black Christmass Festival.  This was the first show that Mayhem ever played De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas in full.

The first single “From The Dark Past” has rarely been played live before and in many ways this song contains all of the key elements that make up the rest of the album.  Blast-beats from Hellhammer and eerie atmospherics throughout by Attila Csihar’s diverse vocal range in the black metal genre.

De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is widely considered one of the most influential black metal albums of all time and this is the first time that fans will be able to own a live copy of the album and witness the historic shows by the band this year in the US and Europe.  The tour is going to be offering fans a great opportunity to hear this unique black metal album from 1994 for the first time live along with the appropriate support arts Black Anvil and Inquisition.
