Following on from the critically acclaimed and commercially successful third year in 2017, Ramblin’ Man Fair returns in 2018! This year the festival will move from its traditional end of July slot to the 30th June and 1st July 2018 Ramblin’ Man Fair is pleased to announce the first bands confirmed for the event in 2018.
These include Steve Earle & The Dukes – Playing a UK Exclusive set ‘Copperhead Road plus Hits!’ (Outlaw Country Stage, Headliner), Halestorm (Main Stage, Special Guests), Blackberry Smoke (Main Stage) and Sons Of Apollo (Main Stage). And added today Fish (Prog in the Park Stage) , Mostly Autumn and Von Hertzen Brothers, with many more acts to be announced…
FISH (Prog in the Park Stage Headliner) – One of the most iconic front men in Progressive music of the past 40 years, Fish’s theatrical live performances were major factors in Marillion’s spectacular rise. As lyricist in chief Fish masterminded some uniquely ornate lyrical concepts over Marillion’s first four studio albums which have each since earned ‘iconic’ status within the Progressive genre. Upon embarking on a solo career in 1988 Fish further established himself as one of Progressive rock’s leading and most influential artists culminating in 2013’s soul stripping yet triumphant ‘A Feast of Consequences’. Fish comes to the Ramblin’ Man Fair with a set full of classics, including a host of material from the critically acclaimed ‘Clutching at Straws’ record (his last studio album with Marillion) and Ramblin’ Man Fair are delighted to welcome him in 2018!
MOSTLY AUTUMN (Prog in the Park Stage) – “Mostly Autumn fuse the music styles of Genesis and Pink Floyd with Celtic themes, hard rock and strong, emotional melodies” – BBC. Since their formation in 1995 Mostly Autumn have carved out one of the most impressive careers in Progressive rock in the past 20 years. With albums such as the beautifully constructed ‘The Last Bright Light’ to the powerful ‘Storms Over Still Water’ and most recently ‘Sight of the Day’ (released in early 2017), Mostly Autumn are definitely an act any self respecting fan of the genre will not wish to miss at next year’s festival!
VON HERTZEN BROTHERS (Prog in the park Stage) – The chart topping Finnish trio bring their impressive and critically acclaimed live show to Ramblin’ Man Fair next year. Formed in 2001 the Grammy Award winning Brothers have established themselves as one of the most exciting progressive rock acts of recent years, showcased perfectly with the stirring latest album ‘War is Over’, which was released in early 2017.
Ramblin’ Man Fair is the must see event for discerning festival goers. A quality musical line up with a number of UK exclusive performances. The event is a unique experience fast becoming a staple of the UK festival calendar.
The festival will take place in the beautiful Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent – the garden of England. The park is one of the largest in South East England with more than 450 acres of mature parkland and a 30-acre lake. With multiple travel links via train (Ashford International, Maidstone East and Maidstone West in close proximity) and road (with three park and rides available around Maidstone). The festival site is also perfect for European festival goers with easy links to the London airports, Eurostar via Ashford Int’l and Channel Ferries to and from mainland Europe.
Ramblin’ Man Fair will take place on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2018.
