Less than 6 months since Anathema last visited Dublin in support of their Distant Satellites album, the Liverpudlians are back. But tonight is no ordinary show. It is the final date of their “Resonance” Tour; an epic three-hour, three-part, career-spanning performance that has drawn Anathema fans old and new out of the woodwork, apparently. The queue outside the Academy before doors open at 7pm is a sight seldom seen. But with no support bands, everyone wants to be here in time to catch the opening act.
If you aren’t already a fan of DevilDriver, and are a fan of unabashed, in your face heavy fucking metal, then you can’t go wrong with their newest release Winter Kills. If you already know who I’m talking about, then buy this fucking album and prepare to have your head bashed in and face melted off with a full force metal assault by one of the finest bands out there of this genre.
Well I overcame my personal prejudice of the genre and now know that Country music means a mighty different thing to what it does here in N.Ireland..Blackberry Smoke rode into Dublin, took no prisoners and far from merely smokin were actually on fire.Great nights entertainment with the N.ireland support also playing their part.Would recommend people check them out next time they ride into your town. You will not be disappointed!
