“I can’t wait to bring my 10,000 Light Years Band to the UK for these concerts… the support of the British fans during my career has been fantastic, and it’s my way off saying “ Thank You“ for Keeping the faith” John Lodge Feb 2019.

John will appear with his ’10,000 Light Years Band.’ Long term collaborator Alan Hewitt (Music Director and Keyboards) and Billy Ashbaugh (Drums) from the Moody Blues touring band, together with Duffy King (Guitars) and Jason Charboneau (Cello).   Together they capture the heart of classic Moody Blues songs he has penned and recorded including Isn’t Life Strange, I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band), Ride My SeesawGemini Dream, Steppin’ in a Slide Zone, as well as Peak Hour, & Evening Time both from Days of Future Passed and the never before played live, Candle of Life.

As a member of The Moody Blues since 1966, John Lodge has spent much of his life touring the world, as part of a ‘rock n roll band’.  His first solo album titled NATURAL AVENUE was released 40 years ago in 1977, but was never performed live.  When asked what has taken him so long to get his own show on the road, John was quick to point out, with a smile, that he has been busy with his “other band”.

During his remarkable career with the Moody Blues, Lodge John has received numerous awards including an Ivor Novello for Outstanding Contribution to Music and an ASCAP (American Society Of Composers & Publishers).   He was also recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  John has been voted one of the 10 most influential bass players on the planet.   The album ‘Seventh Sojurn’ was Billboard number 1 for 5 weeks, and Lodge wrote both the singles from this album, the high-energy I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band) and the beautiful and ethereal Isn’t Life Strange.

The Moody Blues have sold more than 70 million albums and are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of their iconic album ‘Days of Future Passed’ with a hugely successful US tour, which includes a sold-out show at the Hollywood Bowl.   The release of their live album ‘Days of Future Passed, Live’, recently reached the top of US DVD charts.  The Moodies continue to perform their music to fans across the generations, and can also currently be seen performing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction on HBO, and on Amazon Prime, which features two of John’s hits, I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band), and Ride My See-saw.

Lodge also has a wine line titled “Krisemma Wine,” which has won several prestigious international awards including ‘Best South African Chardonnay’ in the International Wine Challenge.
