Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park add a host of very special guests to the bill for Florence + The Machine’s triumphant homecoming on Saturday July 13th, who headline alongside festival favourites and one of the most highly rated live acts around, The National.

Joining these two iconic acts, as well as the already announced Lykke Li, Khruangbin and Nadine Shah, are Blood Orange, Aldous Harding, Marlon Williams, Let’s Eat Grandma and Goat Girl.

It’s been a remarkable year for Florence, whose fourth album High As Hope already has the feel of a career-defining moment. Florence’s recent tour in support of the album was greeted with across-the-board five-star reviews. With the album also landing Welch the third Mercury Prize nomination of her career, Florence + The Machine’s live return to London this summer should not be missed.

Sharing the stage are an American indie institution from Ohio, The National. With big plans this year, including a newly-announced album ‘I Am Easy To Find’ due out in May and an international tour, this will be their return to BST Hyde Park after their 2014 show with Neil Young.

Blood Orange is the R&B and electronic-inspired project of musician, producer and regular Florence collaborator, Dev Hynes. Hynes has worked with a who’s who of modern music – with his latest Blood Orange album, 2018’s Negro Swan, featuring A$AP Rocky and Puff Daddy amongst many others. He’s also continued his work as an esteemed producer / songwriter, working alongside the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Britney Spears, Blondie and most recently with Solange on her standout album – When I Get Home. Hynes makes his exciting return to BST Hyde Park after he last supported his friends Florence + The Machine back in 2016.

New Zealand’s folk singer-songwriter Aldous Harding is also on the tempting line up. Harding is set to release her third album Designer this April, and the current single ‘The Barrel’ perfectly highlights why she is held in such high regard. It is not just her studio outputs that have earned praise, with her captivating appearance on Later… with Jools Holland offering an exciting glimpse of what’s to come in Hyde Park.

Another New Zealander making up the bill is Marlon Williams. Incorporating folk, bluegrass, country and blues into his music, Marlon supported Bruce Springsteen on tour in 2017, and recently appeared in A Star is Born alongside Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. This year, he’s been touring Australia alongside Florence + The Machine, and the pair even performed a stunning duet of his track, ‘Nobody Gets What They Want Anymore’.

Let’s Eat Grandma are Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth, a British duo hailing from Norwich who first met in primary school aged 5 and became bandmates at the tender age of 13. Both still in their teens, their 2018 album I’m All Ears was met with widespread acclaim – seeing Pitchfork brand it “future-pop at its best: kaleidoscopic production and incisive lyrics that swirl into marvellous, breath-taking songs”. Now is the perfect time to catch them in action.

Goat Girl is an all-female post-punk band who chronicle the woes of modern British with undimmed ferocity. The quartet, who go by the pseudonyms L.E.D., Clottie Cream, Naima Jelly and Rosy Bones, released their self-titled debut last year. It was praised by critics and boasts their growling guitar sound and drooling vocals, which hark back to feelings of fiery teenage angst. They are one of the artists sprung from a burgeoning, close-knit south London scene, similar to Florence Welch herself.

These acts join an already magnificent bill. Lykke Li is instantly recognisable with her sensuous, barely-there vocals, backed up by an electro dance sound. Released last year, her fourth album ‘so sad so sexy’ shifts away from the dream-poppy breakup ballads of 2014’s ‘I Never Learn’ toward airy, melancholic takes on trap and R&B. Khruangbin (Thai for airplane, or literally “engine fly”) are a jet-setting trio from Texas. Their dreamy sound comes from a blend of global music influences with soul, dub and psychedelia. Nadine Shah, whose third album, ‘Holiday Destination’ was this year nominated for a Mercury Prize. Finding her voice as a Muslim woman in music, Shah’s post punk insights make her one of the most unique and vital British artists performing today.

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park 2019 is back for another year of unique shows and unforgettable music moments, for the 7th year.

Last year continued the tradition of must-see experiences that has seen The Rolling Stones return to Hyde Park, Carole King play her classic album ‘Tapestry’ in full for the first time ever, comebacks for The Strokes and The Libertines, Stevie Wonder play Songs in The Key Of Life and many more.

2018 saw amazing days and nights with Roger Waters, Bruno Mars, Michael Buble, The Cure, Eric Clapton and Paul Simon’s last ever UK concert.

Headliners for 2019 are: Celine Dion (5th July), Barbra Streisand (7th July), Neil Young / Bob Dylan (12th July) and Florence + The Machine / The National (13th July) and Robbie Williams (14th July).
