SINGLE ‘I MISS THE MISERY’ GOES PLATINUM

HALESTORM ARE THE FIRST FEMALE-FRONTED BAND EVER TO HEADLINE STAGE TWO AT DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL

DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL SET HIGHLIGHTS TO BE BROADCAST NEXT WEEKENDUK ARENA TOUR IN NOVEMBER

Yesterday, Grammy Award winning US rock act HALESTORM learnt that their single, ‘I Miss The Misery’, from the album ‘The Strange Case Of’, was officially certified Platinum. The video for the track has garnered nearly 65 million views on YouTube to date.

Earlier this month, HALESTORM became the first female-fronted band ever, to headline the Zippo Encore (second) stage at the UK’s Download Festival. It marks a milestone for the band and the festival in modern conversation about championing women in music.

Frontwoman Lzzy Hale declares, “It’s an honour to be the first female to headline Download Festival’s Zippo stage. It’s mind blowing that it has not been done a dozen times before…  I hope that through this accomplishment I can inspire other females to not only follow their dreams through, but lead them. I am the first… but I won’t be the last. There are so many amazingly talented women riding beside me.”

Andy Copping, Live Nation’s Executive President of UK Touring states, “I knew when I first started working with HALESTORM that they were a very special band. Watching them grow over the last few years has been a revelation. They are ambitious and incredibly hard working and it made total sense to have them headline the Zippo Stage at Download this year. Lzzy is a total superstar and if anyone deserves success and adulation it is her. Having HALESTORM be the first female fronted band to headline the Zippo Stage just shows what heights the band have achieved. It will only continue to go upwards from here.”

Watch a short live clip of ‘I Miss The Misery’ from their incendiary Download Festival set below and tune in to Sky Arts on July 6th & 7th from 9pm for the full Download Festival highlights; Halestorm are included in both episodes.

The band return to the UK in November for a headline arena tour, supporting latest album ‘Vicious’, which crashed straight into the UK and US Top Ten album chart upon release. The female-led tour features special guests, In This Moment and New Years Day.

When the tour was announced, Lzzy commented, “We’ve been wanting to put together a tour like this for a long time. We are some of the hardest working women in rock, so the fact that we are all on the same stage every night is something not to be missed! We support and love each other, and we are representing our genre. This lineup is a beautiful display of what it means to be a strong female example for rock fans everywhere.”

Dates run as follows:
