HAWXX
‘Deadlands’ is the first single from their forthcoming EP. Fierce, tender and virtuosic. ‘Deadlands’ reaches deep into your heart, rips it out and puts it back with a kiss.
Named after the bird of prey, with the double XX symbolising the double XX female chromosome. HAWXX write songs that reflect the lies of our current political climate, about self empowerment and how love’s a bitch.
In January 2020 they became winners of the Women Make Music PRS Grant which has enabled them to record their debut EP with renowned producer Larry Hibbitt (Dinosaur Pileup, Hundred Reasons, Marmozets).
The band says;
“When something has consumed you to the point you feel you can’t come back from it, ‘Deadlands’ is a place where you can take that toxicity…and destroy it.”
HAWXX are Anna, Hannah, Jessica and Iman and have released 4 singles, all receiving a consistent positive response from press and radio, with airplay from;
Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music,
BBC Introducing and
Planet Rock Radio
