Mark Tremonti surprises the work of rock and metal with an album, that shows a different side of the iconic guitarist. Tremonti is known as a driving force of bands like Alter Bridge and his solo outlet, simply named Tremonti. The guitarist, that got some first attention with post-grunge rocker Creed, started to challenge himself by putting the six-string guitar aside and focusing on his voice.

The story of this album goes back to last March when Tremonti and his family welcomed their first daughter Stella, who was born with the Down syndrome. In this context, he came in touch and partnered up with the National Down Syndrome Society.

The other aspect that led to this album is the passion of the guitarist for singing along to Sinatra songs. Knowing that Sinatra also raised a lot of money for charity, the two aspects, the passion for the legendary singer and the confrontation with the Down syndrome, united, and the idea of recording ‘Tremonti Sings Sinatra’ for charity reasons was born.

Tremonti recorded 14 songs for this longplayer, classics from Sinatra like ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ and ‘Fly Me to the Moon’. Together with surviving members of Frank Sinatra’s orchestra, Tremonti recorded these songs and stayed close to the original. It’s not that Tremonti created rocking versions of these classics. The spirit of Swing is what fuels these interpretations that showcase Tremonti as a great singer.

‘Tremonti Sings Sinatra’ is a stellar album that shows the entire musical spectrum Tremonti can handle. Although being rooted in rock and metal the influences are much broader and ‘My Way’ is not only a goosebump version of the timeless Sinatra classic. In a way, it also describes Tremonti’s approach to music, driven by his heart more than anything else. With the charity approach on top, this record is a great way to spend money for good music and good purpose.
