Oh, how happy I am. The third release from Bradford’s own Psychlona.  Since their debut Mojo Rising’ in 2018 through their sophomore effort ‘Venus Skytrip’ from 2020 the band have just got better and better, now this is a step up, if that’s possible.

The first two opening cuts ‘Gasoline’ gets you banging your head immediately before the sublime ‘1975’ then Rainbird brings some serious desert rock. ‘Meet Your Devil’ is stomping psych which continues on Purple River’ – which has a monumental groove before ‘Jetplane’ brings you back to earth an abrupt punky rocker. ‘La Tolvanera’ comes back to the psych with more simple grooves then ‘Warped’ wraps things up with almost eight minutes of stoner joy.

Taking their influence from Fu Manchu, Kyuss and Hawkwind anda dash of the bands own kebab n roll and you have Psychlona. Catchy melodies, huge riffs and those monumental grooves it’s no wonder Psychlona were picked up by Psycho Waxx, who are the in house label for one of the biggest stoner festivals in the US. Psychlona have produced their ‘Back In Black’ their ‘Master Of Puppets’ so lets see how they develop. In the meantime this will surely push them up the ladder a few rungs.

Score 10/10
