Michael Sweet of Stryper on New CD, The Final Battle - The Performances on This CD Have an Energy That Excites Me!...

Interview by Robert Cavuoto

Stryper will release their long-awaited new album, The Final Battle, this October.

The band continues their established trend of making sonically powerful music with an edge while growing heavier. If the two new singles, “See No Evil, Hear No Evil” and “Rise to the Call,” are any indication of what the rest of the album sounds like, the band will have a blockbuster on their hands. The two songs are aggressive mid-tempo songs with thought-provoking spiritual lyrics. They include their trademark melodies, virtuoso playing, and air-tight rhythms.

The yellow and black attack consists of Michael Sweet [lead vocals/guitars], Oz Fox [guitars], Perry Richardson [bass], and Robert Sweet [drums].

It’s always a pleasure to speak with Michael Sweet. In my latest interview with Michael, he provides us with a candid update on his eye issues, the aspects of The Final Battle that has him excited, how he established his distinctive guitar tone, an introspective look at his side band, Iconic, and working with the talented musicians on their debut album, Second Skin.
