What is going on over in Canada, eh? 2022 has been a fantastic year for Canuck rock and metal – here’s another to add to the list. This time some blistering, brutal thrash from Korrosive. Formed in 2015 by singer Rad they have released a demo, an ep, and a previous full album before this. I will be checking those out because if they’re anything like this I will be well happy.

We get going with some vicious riffage going at breakneck speed then Rad gives us a voice, not unlike either Sodom’s Tom Angelripper or Kreator’s Mille Petroza, its blackened thrash of the highest order which goes up a gear on ‘Radioaktive Scourge’ before we come down on the fantastic, heavy mid-paced crusher ‘The Goddamned’. ‘Fatal Strike’ ups the tempo again and the brutality as does ‘Libertad y Muerto’ which comes to mind Slayer/Exodus – that Bay Area sound before ‘Infernal Onslaught’ brings the chug before it bursts open into a Kreator-style banger. The Germanic swing continues on both ‘Hail The Hellfire’ and the immense ‘Karnage Incarnate’ which goes for nearly eight minutes.

OMG – this is good. The guitar sounds are razor sharp and right in your face, the drums are up front and the bass just locks in that tasty bottom end all courtesy of a fine mix from Ben Erikson and mastering by Arthur Rizk who is becoming the go-to guy for metal. Quality thrash metal played with real intensity is what you have here so treat yourself to 38 minutes of headbanging brutality. Go on – you know you want to…
