The final album of their career, titled “A Chapter Called… Children of Bodom (Final Show in Helsinki Ice Hall 2019),” will be released by the Finnish melodic death metal band CHILDREN OF BODOM on December 15th via Spinefarm.
In 2019, CHILDREN OF BODOM concluded their musical journey with a farewell concert in Helsinki, aptly named “A Chapter Called Children of Bodom.” Following the band’s disbandment, Laiho and Freyberg continued as Bodom After Midnight in 2020. CHILDREN OF BODOM, a Finnish melodic death metal ensemble hailing from Espoo, originated in 1993 under the name Inearthed. At the time of their disbandment in 2019, the group’s final lineup included Alexi Laiho (lead guitar, lead vocals), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboard), and Daniel Freyberg (rhythm guitar). Throughout their musical journey, they released ten studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, two compilation albums, and one DVD.
The band’s third studio album, Follow the Reaper, marked a significant milestone as their first album to achieve gold certification in Finland. Subsequent studio releases also attained this prestigious status. The following four albums debuted at number one on the Finnish album charts, with notable positions on the United States Billboard 200. CHILDREN OF BODOM stands as one of Finland’s top-selling artists, having sold over 250,000 records in the country alone.
