After a decade-long hiatus, GHOSTxSHIP, the revered stalwart of the late-2000s east coast hardcore scene, has announced their triumphant return with a new single, “Ties That Bind,” slated for release on May 1st. This marks their first new music since their explosive comeback in 2023.
“Ties That Bind” represents a culmination of the band’s evolution over the past decade, capturing their raw live energy while showcasing their growth as individuals and musicians. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by the renowned Jason “Jocko” Randall at More Sound Studios in Syracuse, the track promises to deliver the quintessential GHOSTxSHIP experience to fans old and new.
Reflecting on the significance of the hardcore and punk rock community, vocalist Keith Allen shares, “Hardcore and punk rock has created bonds of friendship and family that run deep. Even when we don’t see each other for years, those bonds are still there…It’s pretty freaking cool.”
GHOSTxSHIP’s influence extends far beyond their music. Their relentless work ethic and unwavering dedication have earned them acclaim in the heavy music world, sharing stages with iconic acts like Merauder, Comeback Kid, Knocked Loose, and more. Their return to the forefront of the hardcore scene in 2023 saw them blazing a trail alongside Hatebreed, Earth Crisis, Gideon, and others.
Formed in 2009, GHOSTxSHIP quickly asserted their dominance with the release of their debut LP, “Cold Truth.” Subsequent releases, including split EPs with No Zodiac and solo efforts like “Carry the Flame” and “Cold Water Army,” further solidified their place in hardcore history.
As the band prepares to unleash “Ties That Bind,” fans can expect an electrifying blend of nostalgia and modernity, promising a relentless onslaught of hardcore intensity.
