The esteemed Rialto Square Theater served as the venue for a remarkable event featuring two legendary British old-school metal bands, Saxon and Uriah Heep, in their co-headlining tour titled “Hell, Fire & Chaos”. Despite the passage of time, their live performances continue to astound audiences with their enduring vitality and musical prowess.

Saxon took the stage as the opening act of the co-headlining tour, delivering a powerful performance that commenced with “Hell, Fire and Damnation” from their latest album bearing the same title. Throughout their dynamic 17-song set, they maintained an electrifying momentum, captivating the audience with timeless hits such as “This Town Rocks”, “Power and the Glory”, and “Heavy Metal Thunder”. Frontman Biff Byford demonstrated remarkable vocal prowess, effortlessly hitting every note and engaging the crowd with his magnetic stage presence. Guitarists Doug Scarratt and Brian Tatler showcased their virtuosity with blistering solos and masterful chord progressions, complemented by the energetic basslines of Nibbs Carter and the impeccable drumming of Nigel Glockler.

For the encore, Saxon treated the audience to two additional tracks, “747” and the iconic “Princess of the Night”, leaving a lasting impression of a truly unforgettable heavy rock performance.

Uriah Heep commenced their set with great energy, opening with “Save Me Tonight” from their latest album “Chaos and Colour”, marking their 25th studio release. With a captivating blend of classic hits and newer compositions, lead vocalist Bernie Shaw demonstrated remarkable vocal range and stage presence, captivating the audience with classics like “Sweet Lorraine” alongside newer tracks like “Hurricane”. Lead guitarist Mick Box, the sole remaining original member, delivered a stellar performance, while bassist Dave Rimmer, drummer Russell Gilbrook, and keyboardist Phil Lanzon contributed to the band’s cohesive and vibrant sound.

The combined legacy of Saxon and Uriah Heep, spanning an impressive 49 albums, underscores their enduring significance in the realm of heavy metal music. Witnessing these two iconic bands together on stage was a privilege, reaffirming that true talent transcends the constraints of time.
