Renowned drummer and founding member of Cactus, Carmine Appice, is set to release a groundbreaking tribute album honoring the legacy of his legendary rock band. Titled “Temple of Blues – Influences & Friends,” the album merges Cactus members with a stellar ensemble of guest artists who credit the band as a major influence on their own careers.
Scheduled for release on June 7th, 2024, in both CD and double vinyl formats, “Temple of Blues” promises to be a musical masterpiece. Featuring current Cactus band members alongside a star-studded lineup of blues and rock icons, including Joe Bonamassa, Ted Nugent, Pat Travers, Warren Haynes, and more, the album revisits classic Cactus songs with a modern rock twist.
The album’s lead single, a rendition of the Howlin’ Wolf classic “Evil” featuring Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Dug Pinnick of King’s X, offers a taste of the electrifying collaborations showcased throughout the record.
In addition to Appice’s powerhouse drumming, original Cactus guitarist Jim McCarty joins the lineup, alongside current band members Jim Stapley and Jim Caputo. Artie Dillon is announced as a new addition to the band’s live lineup.
With a rich history dating back to 1970, Cactus has seen its share of ups and downs, but this latest incarnation, bolstered by a fresh lineup and a star-studded tribute album, is poised for a triumphant return to the spotlight.
