Dutch hard rock band Frontline is set to break the silence since their debut album Scream All You Want with an exciting new release. The band has chosen to cover Post Malone’s title track from his 2019 album Hollywood’s Bleeding as their latest single. This single will serve as a promotional track for their forthcoming EP, Back with a 6-pack, which features five brand new self-penned tracks.
Although Post Malone is primarily known for his hip-hop roots, his connection to hard rock is undeniable, having previously collaborated with legendary artist Ozzy Osbourne. “Hollywood’s Bleeding” delves into themes of decadence, hedonism, and nihilism in Hollywood—topics that resonate with Frontline, given their inspirations from artists who embody these very themes.
Frontline’s lead vocalist Thomas Kunst explains, “A quick online search shows that we weren’t the only band that noticed the song’s suitability for a rock cover, but nonetheless, we think our version offers a unique interpretation.”
The single was recorded in April and features Thomas Kunst on vocals, guitarists Arti Flinkerbusch and Thijs Stoffelen, Steven Wijtenburg on bass, and drummer Wouter Michawitz. The cover art, created by Steven Wijtenburg, depicts the Hollywood Hills amidst a volcanic eruption, with lava spelling out “Bleeding” beneath the iconic sign. The night sky in the background hints at the color pattern of Malone’s original album cover.
“Hollywood’s Bleeding” will be available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms on July 10th. Frontline hopes this crossover cover will captivate the hard rock scene and beyond.
