I don’t know too much about Lady Rage because their socials are all over the place – I’m not even sure I’ve got the band members right. What I do know is they hit hard, and they hit heavy. They are seen as a punk band, but there’s a ton of metal in there too.

The intro is a disturbing montage of clips before we go careening into the title track. A squally riff is helped by a pumping bassline before a huge riff takes over, and singer Siren Sycho tells you about yourself. First, she puts her point across in no uncertain terms, then she gives it to you large with both barrels, all backed up by three heavies! She makes you an offer you cannot refuse – jeez, this chick scares the shit outta me! “Falling Face First” (probably because Siren’s stabbed you in the back!) is some raw, snot-nosed punk that kicks you in the nuts before the heavy groove rock of “Never Asleep” gets the blood pumping and has another great vocal delivery. “Hold On Tight” sounds a bit perkier thanks to a spidery riff from NIKA, which goes into Warrior Soul territory. “Down Your Spine” gets darker and absolutely rages along on a marvelous guitar line from NIKA and a huge bassline from Kieren (who played on the sessions). To think that this track is about a car crash Siren had recently. I’d be pissed off too! The intro to “This Lullaby” lulls you into a false sense of security because when it kicks in, it ain’t no lullaby! Play this to your kids, and they’ll end up as serial killers! “This Carousel” is a huge slice of punk/metal that I would liken to Kent’s finest Pryma. Huge riff, crushing rhythm, and a female voice that scares the shit out of me and is not too dissimilar to Stinky Turner from the Cockney Rejects. Back to the metal on the closer “Should You Still Wear This Crown.”

This has left me breathless; the energy they put out is immense. You get eight superb, powerful tracks fizzing with energy, aggression, and passion. Everything is up in the mix, and singer Siren plays the roles in the songs, giving them extra depth. A massive well done to Lady Rage for a job well done. More, please, and soon!
