All For Metal’s second album is a powerhouse fusion of epic battle metal and Norse mythology, seamlessly blending power metal vocals with melodic Viking metal breaks. Their debut was well-received, and this sophomore effort continues in the same vein, delivering rousing, chant-along epic tunes.
The band also explores other timelines and mythologies, as evidenced by tracks like “The Way Of The Samurai” and “Year Of The Dragon,” showcasing their versatility and ability to draw from various historical and mythical sources.
The dynamic vocal interplay between Tim ‘Tetzel’ Wagner and Antonia Calanna is a standout feature. Tetzel’s growling vocals provide a bass-like foundation behind Antonio’s powerful, soaring range. Their collaboration on tracks such as “The Way Of The Samurai” shifts the band’s sound away from their influences like Manowar, introducing elements reminiscent of Hammerfall, Edguy, and Sabaton.
While the band has set aside the oil and loincloths, their battle-themed outfits on album covers, videos, and live performances ensure that All For Metal delivers a compelling show alongside their music.
One of the highlights is “Temple Of Silence,” which showcases the vocal interplay between Tetzel and Antonio. Tetzel growls “In the temple…” followed by Antonio’s powerful completion, “of silence…,” delivering a performance capable of reaching cosmic heights. NASA might consider tuning into Antonio’s frequency for extraterrestrial communication!
The band’s strength lies not only in its vocalists but also in its instrumental ensemble. The twin guitar attack of Jasmin Pabst and Ursula Zanichelli, combined with the thunderous rhythm section of Florian Toma and Leif Jensen, creates a formidable sound. Tetzel’s roars are bolstered by Flo’s bass and Leif’s pounding drums, while Antonio’s vocals are matched by Ursula and Jasmin’s wailing guitars.
The live experience is further enhanced as the 6-piece band expands to an 8-piece on stage with professional dancers Christina Schulz and Luisa Lohöfer, ensuring an unforgettable performance.
This album encapsulates the essence of “Kings of Metal,” “Keeper of The Seven Keys Pt II,” “Art Of War,” and “Glory To The Brave,” making it a truly epic release!
