Jager Henry, the son of renowned drummer Jason Bonham and the grandson of the legendary John Bonham is poised to make his own mark on the music industry. His debut EP, Heart of Thorns, will be released on August 23rd through Born Sad Records.

As the scion of two highly acclaimed percussionists, Jager has undoubtedly inherited a deep musical aptitude and an innate understanding of rhythm that courses through his veins. It was a pleasure to sit down with the Jager and discuss his musical endeavor, an enthralling new EP that showcases his artistic talents and unwavering commitment to authenticity. As Jager candidly shared, his creative process began with an initial batch of five songs that embodied a more mainstream, commercially-driven sound. However, he quickly realized that this approach did not align with his true artistic vision, prompting him to put those songs on the backburner in favor of a collection of eight songs that better encapsulated his vision and creative identity. In doing so, Jager demonstrated the invaluable lesson that, as a solo artist, it is paramount to have the courage to forge your own path, even if it means deviating from perceived industry expectations. The resulting EP is a captivating testament to Jager’s willingness to take creative risks and prioritize artistic integrity over commercial viability.
