Last night, Mars Music Hall was the place to be for heavy music fans. The Animal Instinct Tour featuring Bad Wolves, Pop Evil, ONI, and Sierra Pilot was a non-stop assault of high-energy rock and metal.
ONI, the Canadian progressive metal band known for their technical prowess and soaring vocals, kicked things off with a ferocious set. Formed in 2009, ONI quickly gained a reputation for their intense live performances and complex songwriting. ONI front man and founder Jake Oni has a perfect and balanced mix of growls and clean vocals, blending in perfectly with this tour and the rest of the bands. The UK press for publicity has been pushing the guys very heavily this year, and it shows why. Very impressed.

With their catchy melodies, powerful vocals, and strong stage presence, Sierra Pilot quickly captivated the audience. Songs like “Alive” and “Kerosene” had the crowd singing along and headbanging, creating a vibrant and infectious atmosphere.

Formed in 2017, Bad Wolves quickly gained popularity with their cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie,” which topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Last night, they delivered a powerful performance that had the crowd moshing and singing along. Guitarist Doc Coyle’s signature riffs and soaring vocals were a highlight of the night, while drummer John Boecklin provided a solid foundation for the band’s powerful sound.
Pop Evil, the American hard rock band formed in 2001, took the stage and ignited the crowd with their intense energy. Known for their powerful vocals, catchy melodies, and energetic live performances, Pop Evil has become a staple of the modern rock scene. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty commanded the stage with his powerful vocals and captivating stage presence, delivering a masterclass in vocal performance. Guitarist Dave Grahs unleashed a barrage of blistering riffs, driving the band’s sound to new heights. Pop Evil’s setlist included classics like “Trenches” and “Paranoid,” as well as newer tracks from their latest album, “Skeletons.” Their performance of “Paranoid” was particularly intense, with the crowd singing along to every word.
Overall, the Animal Instinct Tour was an unforgettable night of heavy metal and rock at Mars Music Hall. Both Bad Wolves and Pop Evil delivered exceptional performances that left the crowd wanting more. If you’re a fan of heavy music, be sure to catch this tour if it comes to a city near you.
