Danish trio H.E.R.O. has been attracting significant attention recently for their unique brand of melodic rock, infused with EDM elements to maintain freshness – something fans of Skillet, Cyhra, modern Papa Roach, and Smash into Pieces will find much, much, much to love. That Ghost Of You is their fourth album represents a sacrilege; we should have been celebrating their talents well before now, as this release showcases a band performing at the absolute peak of their abilities.

Containing 11 songs, including previously released singles Misalign, Chemicals, and Halo, the album reflects the three band members’ distinct characteristics through heavy guitar riffs, beautiful pop melodies, and rich vocal fusion. Listen closely and you’ll discover multi-layered sounds in each track, combining crisp, crunchy, concise riffs with cinematic production that adds weight, gravitas, and intensity throughout.

The lyrical content demands in-depth analysis, reflecting the complexities of frontman Christoffer Stjerne, whose Christian upbringing intersects with his perspectives on evolution, self-discovery, self-standing, and confronting past ghosts. Listeners should prepare to be drawn into the band’s hypnotic musical style as they embark on this definite journey.

A tour is planned for April and May 2025, bringing the album to life in concert. While chances of them crossing the North Sea appear slim, I’m genuinely excited to hear them perform, which might necessitate planning a trip to Denmark.

Score 9/10
