Wednesday 13 on New Album Mid Death Crisis – This Is a Laughing All the Way to the Grave Album!

New Album Mid Death Crisis Proves Wednesday 13 Still Rules His Macabre Domain...

Interview by: Robert Cavuoto

Wednesday 13’s tenth studio album, Mid Death Crisis, is set for release on April 25th through Napalm Records and showcases he is still the master of his dark domain.

Mid Death Crisis is one of his darkest, most sinister offerings yet, plunging listeners into the twisted depths of Wednesday 13’s demented psyche. With his signature blend of horror punk, goth, and metal, the Duke of Spook weaves tales of depravity, violence, and the occult that are sure to thrill and terrify in equal measure by upping the ante in delivering increasingly ambitious and spine-chilling sonic nightmares.

“Decease and Desist” and “Decapitated” kick in full blast as Wednesday 13 careens through high-octane horror anthems, while “When the Devil Commands” instantly proves itself as a stunner single with an unforgettable hook. The album’s title is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the trials and tribulations of being middle-age. Still, in Wednesday’s capable hands, even a mid-life crisis becomes a nightmarish descent into madness and mayhem. His reign of terror shows no signs of slowing down.

It’s always a ghoulish pleasure and insightful experience speaking with Wednesday as he shares insights into the creation of his latest macabre masterpieces. Wednesday reveals that the album title was set to be My Funeral, named after a song on the new album, until his drummer joked backstage as Wednesday ranted about getting older and uttered, “It looks like you are having a mid-death crisis.” Instantly, the light bulb went off in his head, and he felt that phrase captures the dark humor that has defined his career. He shares that creatively, Mid Death Crisis is one of his most inspired efforts. “I had ideas for videos, shirts, visuals—everything. I don’t remember an album where I had that many ideas all at once.”

He discusses that horror fuels his work and is never forced, as horror has been his lifelong passion. He eats, breathes, lives, and loves it. Despite his macabre aesthetic, Wednesday is grounded and self-aware—passionate about his work, legacy, and music that shaped him, notably KISS with Rock and Roll Over, topping the list of favorite KISS albums. He declares with conviction that Paul Stanley is the greatest frontman/guitarist of all time.

Now 48, Wednesday is still going full throttle, playing nearly every night and thriving on the energy of new fans discovering his music for the first time. “There’s a whole new generation showing up,” he says. “It’s exciting—it’s like hitting restart.” Please follow My Global Mind on Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, and subscribe to their YouTube channel.

After returning in 2022 with his widely-acclaimed full-length album Horrifier (#8 US Top New Artist Albums), as well as several major tours supporting his solo work and celebrated Murderdolls reunion shows, world-renowned fearsome frontman WEDNESDAY 13 is back with another slew of harbingers of horror to slay the masses. Despite being full of industrial electricity, trademark crooning, hook-laden stompers and metallic goth-punk energy, the lyrical content touches on darker topics with a whole load of tongue-in-cheek digs. Latest single ‘When The Devil Commands’ takes a shot at the Satanic Panic of the 80s, writing about what his mother would think if he truly was possessed by the Devil via heavy metal.
