For a band that was kinda formed in the ’80s, they’ve taken their sweet time in releasing their debut album. Alright, they only did covers at the start, but they have now written a big bad bastard of an album where they eschewed any recent technology and did it old school. Featuring two ex-members of Onslaught and one of their roadies, they have taken the soul of the band and opted for the same punk/thrash hybrid we have come to love.

Opening with the title track, they ease you in, but once they get going, it’s a total trip back to the ’80s with some razor-sharp riffage and a swinging bouncy rhythm. ‘Bloodthirsty’ has a huge chugging riff, and singer Jase Howell (the roadie) shows what he’s all about, projecting and spitting out the lyrics much the same on the punkier ‘0-60 Death Or Glory’. We head east on ‘Holy War (Sea Of Tears)’ as drummer Steve Grice rattles out a tribal pattern before the guitars come in with another chug and they head off into mid-paced Metallica territory before the Motorhead-esque ‘This Life We Design’. ‘Berserker’ is a raucous thrashing beast, as is ‘Broken Mind’ after its eerie intro. The final cut is a fine re-imagining of Onslaught’s ‘Power From Hell’.

Jeez, this is superb. Made by guys who know what they’re doing. The riffs cut deep, and the rhythms batter you into submission. It’s brutal, energetic, and relentless. More please, and soon.
