Rising rock musician, actor, songwriter, and film producer Kurt Deimer is releasing his debut full-length album, And So It Begins…, on May 9th via his own Bald Man Records.

The 17-track versatile collection is a follow-up to the 2021 EP, Work Hard Rock Hard, and takes listeners on a journey that spans multiple musical styles. The record starts with the blistering hard rock anthem “Dance,” propelled by its crunchy, distorted guitar riffs. Kurt quickly shifts gears on, “Back of the School,” and “Naïve” unleashing a spitfire vocals performance dripping with attitude. He closes out the album with a fearlessly take on Pink Floyd’s epic “Have A Cigar,” as it transitions into a spoken word version of The Door’s “Riders on the Storm.”

And So It Begins… solidifies Kurt as an audacious rock visionary with limitless creativity. He effortlessly leaps between melodic hard rock and his unique vocal style, blending talk-singing with hard rock while always sounding unmistakably like himself. Phil X is heard throughout the album, elevating the already impressive collection of tracks to new heights, infusing them with expressive riffs, soulful licks, and captivating solos.

It was a pleasure interviewing Kurt while he was on tour with Steel Panther and Buckcherry, introducing fans to his album in a 30-minute high-energy set.

In my interview, Kurt reflected on his 2021 EP, designed to introduce his music in preparation for a tour. Since then, he’s built a solid fan base, releasing this debut album, and already has a second album of music completed and a third album almost completed! He praised collaborators Phil X (guitarist/songwriter) and Chris Lord-Alge (producer) for shaping his sound and musical approach. He also gave special credit to Geoff Tate, who sings on the dark, ominous track “Burn Together,” which helped spark his musical career.

He explains thematically, his songs are emotionally raw and reflective, tackling personal struggles, social issues, and messages of hope and resilience. He aims to use his music as therapy for himself and as a source of inspiration for listeners.

Kurt explains that his blending of spoken-word rock with melodic singing developed organically due to his return to music after a long hiatus from singing, and songs like “Naive” and “Time Will Tell” reflect this evolution.
