I just try to be as honest as possible and sing what I feel after I’ve put myself in the “mindset of the song”. Then when it comes down to the final touches, at least for this album, I weighed in Pelle’s and Daniel’s wishes too. So the title track, for instance, has me singing it slightly more aggressively than I personally wanted it. I wanted to sing it just like I sang the last chorus.
The most songs are good but the pace is not enough to me. Too many slow ballads are annoying. The first album was much more energetic and it is very pity that musicians lost their fervor. The band had a great potential after the debut album but decided to grow in different way. I am sure that many metalheads will appreciate this work and primarily “The Waking Hour” is recommended to all fans of Brazilian music-influenced Melodic and Prog Metal; however, the lovers of Power Metal could be possibly dissatisfied with the total lack of speed.
The first notable difference is that this album feels a little more serious than the TRELLEBORG one. Where that one was colorful and fun in places, DANCE OF DRUIDS is dark, angry and a lot more sinister. There is still a thick layer of Symphonic style metal to be found, but the death and black metal elements are the predominant sounds that you will hear.
