The first single I bought was Gillan’s “New Orleans” when I was 15 yrs old. It was therefore a huge honor for me to recently have the chance to interview Deep Purple vocalist and legend Ian Gillan. Deep Purple are always touring, and was no surprise to have to catch up with Ian via an international call to his hotel room in Belgium.
After the encore was over, the audience raised Stratovarius’s flags and asked the band for more. And they gave them more – there was the second encore closing up the show with the song “Hunting High and Low”, which lyrics might be the band’s motto: “Now I’m leaving my worries behind/Feel the freedom of body and mind/I’m starting my journey, I’m drifting away with the wind, I go”.
Swedish symphonic metal troop Therion are set to kick-off a European headline tour in January 2016 and have announced four UK dates as part of the run.
