One of the best things about the festival season is the opportunity to see some of the bands scheduled to appear playing intimate club dates as a warm up before the main event. Tonight is no exception and the 350 capacity 100 Club on London’s busy Oxford street has been sold out for weeks in anticipation of San Franciscan Pop Rock stars Train playing in our fair capital city.
I’m going to say it straight off the bat. It’s been a hell of a long time since I heard a debut album that was this damn good. In fact, I’m not even sure who it would be. One thing’s for sure…if you didn’t know this was a debut, you’d think this was at least the third album from a band who’d been doing the rounds for a few years.
to me, it’s about musicians who are passionate about their instrument and making something exciting which blossoms when they play live. It’s not an intellectual message, it more emotional and powerful.
