Scott Ian – Speaking Words Belfast Limelight 2- Friday 7 June 2013
In conclusion the evening delivered quality entertainment, and like everybody else that had witnessed the Black Star Riders introductory performance I would be proud to say as per the official event badge and T-shirt that “I was there” “Bound for Glory”? I think that Black Star Riders wont be long in achieving that status, already on the way with current chart placing of the “All Hell Breaks Loose” release. Successfully bridging the past and present of the band this marks a new and exciting chapter in their history, inevitable world domination waits!!!

Now for the actual music: despite the fact that I am a huge Rocky George fan and he’s now playing with Fishbone, and despite my misgivings from my prior time of seeing ST, I’m here to tell you, they were tight as a mofo!!! And if I’m not mistaken it wasn’t until about the third song that Mike spoke to the crowd at any great length, but most of his rants were kept short. The setlist was the highlight of the night for me. They played classic stuff, more recent songs, as well as a few from their new album. All era’s blended so well. The band he has assembled right now is insanely talented
Lead singer Simon Cruz now holds the record for the recording the 2 albums with the band, who lost Dave Lepard (RIS) after the stunning debut and Oliver Twisted who changed his name and went back to his now very successful band Reckless Love
With their new album “Powerplay”, Shakra reached number one of the Swiss album charts. With this successful record in baggage, the band hits the road to rock the stages in Germany, Switzerland, France, Netherlands and Austria. The “Powerplay-Tour” started on March 8th, 2013 in Berlin and I was there!
