Having grinned my way through Shanghai Treason and thoroughly enjoyed the ever-reliable Gin Annie and Bad Touch, all that remained was for the Queen of Metal, Doro Pesch to arrive and preside over the strong audience of rockers.
Styx Rockin’ The New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning – July 25, 2021!
No Styx show would be complete with Tommy taking center stage to perform “Renegade” with its lush vocal harmonies and the powerful new ballad “Sound the Alarm,” which was written pre-pandemic and foretells what we all were all going to face in 2020. Todd Sucherman told me in a previous interview that when he first heard the song, “I damn near burst into tears because the lyrics were so in tune with what is happening now.” It was quite an emotional moment to hear Tommy sing it live.

With Bloodstock Open Air 2021 less than a few weeks away, the difficult journey out of lock-down, organising a festival that can actually go ahead, meeting all of the COVID-19 safe requirements and ensuring that the bands that have been booked can actually get to Derbyshire to play their allotted slots has been nothing short of both a nightmare and a miracle of perseverance of character in the face of adversity.
Rock’n the Trust – A Benefit Show for the MVT Crisis Fund – 8th to 14th May 2021
The jam-packed virtual gig, is shot on location in London at Hard Rock Cafe – Piccadilly Circus. The show will centre around a house band aptly named, ‘The Tier Jerkers’, which features touring musicians – Rex Roulette, Seye Adelekan (Gorillaz), Mat Hector (Iggy Pop) and Ben Ellis (Iggy Pop). The houseband will perform alongside the all-star lineup, with guests recording both on location at Hard Rock Cafe and remotely from their home studios.
