‘The Real Deal’ really smacks of a southern blues version of old time Whitesnake …..simply glorious and probably my favourite from the whole album.
First impressions of this album are pretty good being previously unfamiliar with both ‘Ween’ and the ‘Dean Ween Group’.
This is an album I have enjoyed immensely and will continue listening to. Lee Aaron has a voice which it seems is improving with age.
As much as Toby would like to put a little of the past to bed these days, they were obliged to add a few extra numbers in to fill out a decent length set comprising some classic Little Angels tracks
The whole album is just utterly superb and I felt like I had been riding an emotional and psychological rollercoaster.
Sonically The Darkness are Rock n’ Roll veterans with an affinity to writing well-crafted songs as their set was culled from the best songs of their four albums.
Marco Mendoza thrills with a true celebration of his full regal rock heritage, and he gives a nice nod to his time when he played for Thin Lizzy and Ted Nugent.
So the end section of “If You Can’t Handle the Heat” asked for it, I felt like “Fuck it, I’m going to go berserk”.
They are a formidable live unit and absolutely mesmerising to watch – I don’t remember even glancing away from the stage.
