Having waited a long time to see this excellent power metal outfit, it was definitely a show not to be missed but, due to family and work commitments Fredrik Bergh, Pelle Akerlind and Henrik Olsson would not be performing. It was therefore with some trepidation that I descended the steps of the Underworld to watch them. Would they be able to deliver? Lets see..
I remember hearing Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and “School’s Out” with Alice Cooper and I mean I have been listening to the Beatles and all that 50s and 60s stuff because that’s what my parents used to play but when I heard that I was like ‘Oh shit this is really good!’ So when I heard those bands or those songs I was totally blown away and then I started playing guitar.
Despite always nearly retiring, calling it a day, and more.. there is no doubt they will be back for another batch of album anniversary shows in the near future.
According to their bio, life is boring for Ben Clarke, Neil Hunt and Liam Lever the three members of alt rock power trio LTNT. Nowadays, with it being so easy to NOT get killed by random events in the world, boredom it appears forced the three of them to form a band build up a following and lay down some tracks culminating in the release of ‘DAO’, a five track E.P being showcased here tonight.
In 1985 Pretty Maids played the Hammersmith Odeon (September 18th to be precise) as support to British NWOBHM heroes Saxon. The tour on the back of their debut Red Hot & Heavy album promised a return to the UK shortly. To your average Danish hard rock band, shortly equates to 28 years at least for London anyways.
