With One, Shallow Side bravely attempt to create something brand new for music fans while maintaining a familiarity that will bring some ease to the common music listener
The hugely atmospheric basement club is tucked away under a Swiss restaurant and I thought it appropriately fitting that this was the location of choice to host an event by a Swiss rock band who are on their way up.
Basically what this entailed was totally unleashed, balls to the wall musical extravagance at its finest.
It’s a pastiche of space rock, fuzz guitars, and a very progressive approach while at the same time tapping into a melodic pop type of style too
Overall this isn’t a bad EP. If like me you are a bit dubious about covers, this one is an easy listen, with “Suffragette City” and “Life In The Fast Lane” giving good versions of classics. “Iron Fist” is good, if you like your covers to be a clone of the original.
